Highwoods Properties, Inc. today announced that it has signed a long-term lease for 59,000 square feet at LakePointe One in Highwoods Tampa Bay Park. The customer is a high-quality international company.

Floridan Palace about to open doors
The Floridan Palace as the hotel’s staff readies it for reopening after seven years of renovations and many years of vacancy.
The property will debut to about 600 guests at a Saturday night party and will open officially on Monday, said Angelo Markopoulos.
Markopoulos’ father, Antonios Markopoulos, paid $6 million for the property in 2006. The 19-story former “Floridan Hotel” was built in 1926 and had been shuttered since 1987….continue reading
Market Trend: Tampa / St Petersburg’s Retail Vacancy Stays at 6.8%
The Tampa/St Petersburg retail market did not experience much change in market conditions in the second quarter 2012. The vacancy rate remained at 6.8% in the second quarter. Net absorption was positive 208,104 square feet, and vacant sublease space decreased by 1,843 square feet. Tampa Port officials close on 110 acres in Gibsonton
The Tampa Port Authority has closed on an $8.9 million purchase of 110 acres in south Hillsborough County from South Bay Corp. and Industrial Park Inc. The land is adjacent to the Port Redwing site in Gibsonton. Since the site is adjacent to the CSX mainline, it will make it easier to extend direct rail access to Port Redwing, according to port officials.
